Hey all!

Here are a few bites to curb your craving for the National Student Food Summit – This year, we are focusing on furthering food system knowledge within the 6 principles related to the National Student Food Charter.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 17TH will be based around ‘Social Justice’, ‘Transparency and Participation’ & ‘Health’ - how can we ensure that food is inclusive, affordable, traceable and truly healthy?

SATURDAY, AUGUST 18TH we will dig into ways to ‘Support Local Economies’ while ensuring minimal ‘Environmental Impact’.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 19TH we will concentrate on ‘Celebrating Food’ and it’s treasured role within each of our cultures and lives.

We’ll finish the festivities by illustrating the integrated relationship between each of these themes via the National Student Food Charter, and brainstorming ways to transform our ideas into realities. We can’t wait to see you ALL this August -bring your friends!

On August 17,18,19th mark your calendars for the return of the National Student Food Summit to be held at the University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. With this year’s theme being, ”Future of Food on Campus” students working on issues related to food are invited to attend this 3-day summit for an opportunity to interact with like-minded peers and leaders from a variety of sectors and backgrounds. (health, poverty, environment, food industry, NGO’s and more!) The focus this year remains on the campus, so we will also be showcasing some of the brilliant work from students across the country that are striving to push the food movement forward.

This is a student summit you don’t want to miss! Save the date – August 17,18,19th 2012.
